Bookings, Fees and Policies
Due to COVID-19, from 19/03/20 all sessions will now take place online via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, etc. This will be in place for the foreseeable future. I have over 15 years experience teaching via phone/online and this is a very effective way of working.
YOUR FIRST SESSION
All new clients will have a 50 minute initial consultation and assessment before undertaking regular rehabilitation or training. The purpose of this consultation is to:
take a thorough client case history
assess the client's current vocal condition and fitness
understand the client's current work requirement and future goals
assess which other team members may be required, i.e. ENT, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Counselling/Psychotherapy, etc.
formulate an action plan including the number of sessions they will need and how frequently
determine whether we will be a good match for coaching
This initial consultation is charged at the normal rate. Unfortunately due to my schedule I am unable to offer free phone or email advice. You are welcome to email over your clinic notes, performance history, etc. ahead of time and these will be discussed in your initial consultation.
*Please note that I work mainly with professional performers. If you are a student or hobbyist or semi-pro I am happy to see you for an initial assessment and then refer you onto one of my colleagues with a full report if I do not feel that I am the right coach for you.
ONGOING REHABILITATION & TRAINING

Out of hours sessions for international clients will be considered on an individual basis. Please email me to discuss if you cannot find a suitable time. International clients: the website will automatically adjust to your timezone.
During the uncertain period we are facing due to COVID-19 I am temporarily relaxing my 48 hour cancellation notice to 24 hours.
Strictly 24 hours notice is required to reschedule or the full fee is payable. All rescheduling is done online on the My Bookings page.
This is an automated online system and it will not let you reschedule if you miss the 24 hour cut-off, even by a few minutes. I do not have direct access to clients' online accounts and cannot override the system to grant any exceptions. Refunds are not offered once a session has been booked online.

Please reschedule your session with 24 hours notice if you are feeling unwell and working with a voice during illness can be more harmful than helpful.
HMUK & OTHER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Some clients requiring Vocal Rehabilitation will qualify for financial assistance from Help Musicians UK , Royal Society of Musicians or other charitable funding bodies. You will need a letter of recommendation from a clinician (Speech Therapist, ENT or GP) to obtain funding. You may wish to contact BAPAM (link on the links page) for further advice from a specialist GP, who may also help you with referrals for other specialist treatment.
If you already have an agreement in place with a funding body please send an email confirming proof of funding via email to email@example.com. No bookings will be taken for charity-funded clients without proof of funding in advance. Once your email has been received you can book online using the HMUK/Charity option below.
I also offer a limited number of scholarships at greatly reduced fees for clients who demonstrate financial need. If you would like to apply, please book your initial consultation and this can be discussed during that session.
Rates have been adjusted temporarily due to the uncertainty of COVID-19.
*We prefer all clients to use the Online Booking System wherever possible and offer discounted fees for everyone who uses this option.
Online Booking for virtual coaching/rehab rate: £85/50 min
All booking/rescheduling is done by the client via the online booking system. Prepayment is collected and invoices, receipts, tax document etc. are automatically generated by the payment portal attached to the booking system. This means greatly reduced admin time for both parties, 24/7 access for clients, and is our preferred way of working because of the huge amount of time and work it saves.
HMUK/Charity virtual coaching/rehabilitation rate: £100/50min
Clients with charitable funding can still use the online booking system to reduce some administrative burden, but sadly these organisations do not allow prepayment via the prepayment portal. This means that invoices and all other documentation have to be produced manually and payments have to be tracked (and often chased) manually, which does mean additional admin time, hence the higher fee.
