About The Event

Our ears and eyes are great, but sometimes our hands are better. This workshop will explore using our hands to safely assess resting tension levels in the neck, appropriate gestures of respiratory support in the abdomen, and body alignment manoeuvres. We will also look at the safest and most comfortable ways of using our hands on our clients when doing alignment/posture and respiratory support exercises. Participants will take turns pairing up with one another to "get a feel" for many body types. All participants should be comfortable being touched and touching others.

This workshop is designed for experienced singing/spoken voice teachers, speech therapists working with performers, and vocal rehabilitation coaches. If you are unsure if the event is suitable for you please get in touch before booking.

This six hour workshop is priced at less than one hour's private training with Dane Chalfin and the venue is walking distance from both Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly. The event is not catered though tea/coffee are available at the venue. Participants are invited to stay for a drink after the workshop for some networking and community building. Space is limited to 14 participants.

PLEASE NOTE: The skills covered in this workshop are not for use in manual therapy or manipulation of the larynx, which should only be performed by practitioners with appropriate medical/therapy qualifications and training. This workshop is looking at handling skills for assessment only.
